A few days ago we reported that Google Discover was showing author’s name below the article and not site names for some stories. Well, Google Discover can now let you hide content from view based on who’s writing it, regardless of where it might be published.
Francisco Zuasti first noticed it in July and published it Twitter but it was difficult for me to understand because of the language. Glenn Gabe spotted it the other day too, in English, and posted it Twitter.
It says “don’t show content from [author name].” Here’s Glenn’s screenshot in English:
Super cool! Google really knows who writes what and where…
Also, a note about Google Stories in Google Discover:
It is also interesting to find some profiles with About Me information, which includes a quick bio and links to social networks (such as Pinterest, Instagram and TikTok). Recently (in the past few weeks) I’ve started seeing more of these in Discover. Not sure about G’s plan, but interesting. pic.twitter.com/hd5Ou7Dujf
