YouTube has added a new podcast exploration page that makes it easier to find podcasts. Although the supplement has not been officially announced, sharp eyes noticed and pointed out a new dedicated podcast section.
A new podcast exploration page can help increase podcast visibility.
Explore the pages
Explore pages are top-level categories, for example Music, Sportsand Comedy.
Menu navigation makes it easy for audiences to browse the type of content they’re interested in, and once there, they can browse through a variety of choices.
The menus to access the Explore page are in the upper left corner of the page from the link labeled Explore and further down by the left navigation pane in the Explore section.

The new Explore Podcasts page is not accessible from the side menu.
The link to the Podcasts category page is only accessible via the main Explore category page.
First, you need to click on the main page Explore through the link accessible in the upper left corner.

The main Explore page has a text and icon menu that includes a link to the new Podcasts page located in the lower right corner of the menu section.

By clicking on the icon, the visitor opens on a new Podcasts page.

The new podcast exploration page features nine categories of podcasts to explore:
- Popular episodes
- Popular podcast playlists
- Recommended
Based on your subscriptions and history - Popular podcast creators
- Comedy
- A true crime
- Sports
- Music
- TV and film
The only categories that have a dedicated page for exploring podcasts for a specific topic are:
- Popular episodes
- Popular podcast playlists
- Popular podcast creators
Audiences can visit the entire podcast page under the Popular Episodes category:

However, they cannot do this for topics in the Comedy, True Crime, Sports, Music, and TV & Film categories.
For those categories that do not have a dedicated category page, podcast audiences must use side scrolling to explore more podcasts within a topic.
Podcasts are popular on YouTube
According to a 2022 Edison Research studyYouTube is the most popular platform for listening to podcasts, followed by Spotify.
What’s notable about these statistics is that YouTube has reached this level of popularity without a dedicated category for podcasts.
The new podcast exploration page isn’t branded on YouTube’s homepage, and there aren’t specific podcast categories for topics like sports, music, true crime, or comedy.
The seemingly incomplete navigation makes it look like a work in progress.
