Google Search Console has temporarily disabled the check patch button in the coverage report section. There is a notice that reads “Limited functionality: We will be making some minor updates over the next few days. You will not be able to issue new verification requests during this period.”

How does it look. If you try to click on any section under the coverage report, you will see a yellow banner saying that the patch confirmation feature is currently not working. Here is a screenshot of Vijay on Twitter:

what’s coming It’s hard to know exactly which “minor updates” are coming in the “next few days,” but keep an eye out for updates to the coverage report in Google Search Console through the end of this week.

Confirm correction. So for now, the validation fix won’t work in the coverage report, but it does work in the experience reports like page experience, basic web elements, mobile usability, and more.

Why do we care? If you’re trying to check for corrections in your Google Search Console coverage report and can’t, you’re not alone. Check back daily to see if Google re-enables this feature, but until then, don’t worry – no one can validate the fixes in the coverage report.
