Google: Embedding iframes with NoIndex does not index your page

This may be obvious to many, but embedding iframes can be a confusing topic for many. Google’s John Mueller has confirmed that if you embed an iframe that contains the noindex meta, the page you embed the iframe in will not be removed from Google’s index.

John Mueller was asked this on Twitter and he said a simple “no” to the question, here it is:

This should not be confused with the new one tag indexifembedded robots.

Of course, you can easily test this using the URL inspector in Google Search Console. This would very quickly check if the page is crawlable and indexable, and if not, what is preventing it.
