The Google My Business mobile app has stopped working forever

The Google My Business mobile app for iOS and Android no longer lets you manage your business profile, communicate with customers, or see insights. Now when you try to access it, the app says “Google My Business app is no longer available”.

Expected. This was expected when Google transformed from Google My Business to your Google business profile last November, Google told us at the time that Google would completely retire the Google My Business app in 2022. That day has officially arrived.

Now what. Google tells you to manage your Google profile in Google Maps or Google Search. Google said you can manage your business profile, see your performance and connect with customers directly on Google Maps and Google Search. You can also receive notifications directly from the Google Maps app, so don’t forget to install Google Maps and sign in with your business profile.

Email address. Google too sent companies by email late last night saying, “starting July 2022, the Google My Business mobile app will no longer be available, and the Google Maps app will be the best place to respond to customer messages on mobile. Turn on your notifications to ensure that you are notified of new incoming messages via email and Google Maps push notifications. You can also reply to messages from your business profile on Google Search.”

Why do we care? If you’ve been used to using the Google My Business app to communicate with customers, change your business listing, check your performance, and more – then you’ll need to switch to using the Google Maps or Google Search app. Even Google has told us that this change is coming and has even emailed us a few times that it will happen soon. And it is – the Google My Business app is gone.
