Google tests rounded favicons in mobile search results

Google is testing the shape of the rounded corner for icons that appear in mobile search results on clippings. Brodie Clark shared a few examples Twitter “A rounded version with a gray background has appeared on the back of recent favicon size testing on mobile devices. Similar to previous tests, the brand / domain name is repeated at the top.”

I think the rounded look gives them more uniformity in the interface with the search results.
