LinkedIn extends audio events to all users

LinkedIn extends live-only audio events, first introduced in January in beta, to all users who have Creator mode turned on.

Live events with sound alone are LinkedIn’s answer to the success of apps like Clubhouse and features like Twitter Spaces.

They’ve always been open to listening to all LinkedIn users, and now all users who turn on Creator mode can host their own audio events.

LinkedIn states in the post:

“Sound events are a great way for creators to genuinely connect with their community. When you host and attend a sound event on LinkedIn, your profile comes with you, allowing you to follow and communicate to other speakers and participants who are also listening to and participating in the same sound event as you. ”

Creator Mode is available to all LinkedIn users who meet the following criteria:

• An audience base with over 150 followers and / or links
• Recent share of any type of content on the platform
• Good status and history of respect for community policies.

In addition to audio events, Creator Mode lets you access live video streaming, newsletters, profile videos, and post analytics.

LinkedIn says that since its launch in March 2021, 5.5 million users have turned on the creator mode, leading to a nearly 30% increase in user involvement in the content.

Here are some additional details and features that come with expanding audio events on LinkedIn:

• Audio event attendees can now turn on captions for the event.
• Improved audio event detection with matching audio events on the My Network tab.
• Users can now browse and respond to upcoming, relevant audio events from people on and off their network.
• When you attend a sound event or host it on LinkedIn, you can follow the host or participants of the event and let them know that you continue to talk.
