We may have had another update, an unconfirmed Google Search algorithm update on June 27th and 28th. Google’s Danny Sullivan spoke at the Google NYC SEO meetup about how Google communicates about Google algorithm updates. Google has updated its rich results guidelines to prohibit the tagging of products that are generally prohibited or regulated, or that may cause serious harm to yourself or others. Google has clarified more about the Googlebot indexing limit of 15 MB. Google has updated the documentation to help with the crawl statistics report. Google has released a video on SEO tips for e-commerce sites. Google explained how to insert canonical link tags using JavaScript. I had to post a reminder that Google no longer uses the additional index, which was unfortunate. Google has added pros and cons to Google Search snippets. Google Top Stories now groups news by topic. Google is testing scalable local courses. Google’s Car Knowledge Panel labels hybrids and electric cars as green. Google Maps is testing a new local panel with tabs and images. Google is testing a new feature to find places through reviews. Bing is testing a “click to view full answer” feature and a “from this page” feature that presents snippets. Bing is also tested to show “use tab” in the autocomplete bar. Google automatically chooses background colors for some image fragments. Google is also testing Google Shopping Adcs background color shading and also testing retailer brand sliders. Google also added a Discover Shopping search filter to filter by black-owned, Latino-owned, veteran-owned, or women-owned businesses. Google will pay Wikipedia to repurpose its content, which is a lot. And this week I went to the Google NYC SEO meetup at the Google Chelsea building, I posted a short video of that which you can find a link to at the end of this video.
